In this video, Nikon Canada’s Mark Cruz provides an overview of the SB-5000 Speedlight, Nikon’s first radio frequency (RF) controlled flash. The light and compact flash uses radio frequency and will operate without a direct line of sight for a range of up to 98 feet (30 metres) – allowing photographers to place lights in different rooms, around corners, and work seamlessly in bright ambient light. The new Radio-controlled Advanced Wireless Lighting system in the SB-5000 also allows up to six groups of flashes to be triggered up to 30 metres away. The SB-5000 includes its own internal cooling system which keeps the flash operating at the optimal temperature, allowing photographers to fire up to 120 continuous shots at five second intervals.
